Troon Golf, based in Scottsdale Arizona and a world leader in luxury brand golf management, development and marketing, has formed a new division to seek out expansion opportunities throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Paul Dellanzo, golf director at Pevero GC, Sardinia, home of the PGAE Starwood championship for the past four years, has joined Troon Golf as vice president to oversee the company’s facilities in the region.
Dellanzo was selected for the important role because of his proven executive skills and accomplishments with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and several other leading establishments in the industry.
“We are fortunate to have an experienced individual such as Paul join Troon Golf as we continue our global expansion, “ said Troon Golf chairman and chief executive, Dana Garmany. “His knowledge and experience in club operations throughout Europe and the Middle East will prove invaluable as we introduce Troon Golf in these new regions.”
Dellanzo’s career began in England, where he graduated from Childwall Hall College. He earned Class A credentials in the Canadian and British PGA’s and played on the Canadian and US mini tours, capturing five pro championships.
His cv is equally impressive on the golf club and resort scene, with spells at Whistlers Golf Resort, British Columbia, East Sussex National, Loch Lomond, Doha, Qatar and in recent years, Pevero. “I have always been impressed by the top-level position held by Troon Golf in golf management, ” he said. “I look forward to spearheading the expansion into Europe and elsewhere.”
Troon have opened a new European office in Milan to add to those already operating in Brisbane and Tokyo. They currently manage operations in 120 clubs in ten countries while Troon Golf Properties include the Westin Turnberry Resort, numerous major resorts across USA and others in Australia and Mexico.
