GGA Poll Extended and WGF postponed

The Asia Pacific Golf Group has announced that the Global Golf Awards (GGA) on-line poll which is currently in progress will have a new closing date. Meanwhile the World Golf Expo at Mission Hills, Haikou, has been postponed from October until March 15 – 19 next year.

These changes in plan have been necessitated by the spread of the Coronavirus which has resulted in many golf clubs being closed all around the world.

The original closing date for the on-line poll was May 31, 2020. The extension will be for an additional two months and the revised closing date is set at July 31, 2020. As of March 30, the number of votes cast was at 19,223.

To participate click on the link and this will open the On-Line Poll. Follow this with your selection of territory and the club that you want to vote for. That’s all.

The Global Golf Awards will be presented at the Gala Awards Banquet of the World Golf Expo (WGE) next March. The exact date of this banquet will be announced shortly.

The partners behind the staging of the WGE, the giant Mission Hills Group of China and the Asia Pacific Golf Group, the parent company of ASIAN GOLF have pledged to use the extra time to plan an even bigger and better event.

WGE will be staged annually in bustling Haikou, the capital city of Hainan in China. It is the intention of the organisers to transform Haikou into the “mecca” for golf in Asia. Given its prime location, Haikou is very accessible to all nations in Asia and is also easily accessible to the rest of the world.
