Sometimes when you can’t find what you are looking for, the only solution is to make it yourself. That’s exactly what British software designer Gavin Hamer has done in creating a versatile, comprehensive suite of FlightScope-compatible golf games where ‘practice meets play’ for all ages.
The inspiration for Awesome Golf, which will be available to see for the very first time at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show, was Hamer’s golf-crazy son. When Hamer tried to buy a simulator solution to play at home, he quickly realised that there was nothing on the market which catered for all ages and was also fun to play.
After a research trip to the PGA Show in 2019, Hamer recruited Sony PlayStation sports game designer Ben Fawcett and the pair set about creating the software that has become Awesome Golf. Hamer and his team have created a product that can be used by golfers at driving ranges, on home simulators, and as a coaching tool for PGA Professionals.
