SkyCaddie unveils ultra-fast SX400 GPS

10.00am 1st November 2019 - New Products

SkyCaddie’s new SX400 gives golfers the same powerful features found in the Tour-proven SX500 model, but in a more compact size.

The SX400 (£299.95) and SX500 (£379.95) both have ultra-fast multi-core processors, which make them not only golf’s fastest golf GPS units – but also the fastest distance measuring devices golfers can use.

With its 4-inch HD touchscreen the SX400 joins the larger SX500 (5-inch screen) in delivering golf’s quickest and most comprehensive way to measure yardages, while providing the best possible view of every hole.

SkyCaddie’s SX400 offers the same features offered in the SX500, but in a more compact unit

Because both the SX400 and SX500 have Wi-Fi connectivity, which literally ‘cuts the cord’ to the computer, golfers can wirelessly download SkyCaddie’s very latest course maps and software updates within moments, right before they play. And the new SX400 and the SX500 both conform with the R&A’s legal guidelines for use in competition.

James Holmes, SkyCaddie’s General Manager UK & Europe, said: “We have included all of the SX500’s advanced stroke-saving features in the SkyCaddie SX400, for golfers wanting a more compact version of this game-changing device. After four wins and dozens of top-10 finishes for the SX500 so far on the Staysure Tour, a growing number of elite golfers are now telling us that the features provided by SkyCaddie’s new GPS devices mean that they no longer need their laser or even a yardage book.

“All a golfer has to do is try a single round with the SX400 or SX500, and they will grasp instantly why the Tour golfers are now using them. The true clincher for serious golfers is that the SX400 and SX500 both have the ability to show today’s pin positions. This most appeals to golfers who previously relied on the limited-vision, single-yardage option which a laser provides. The new SX400 and its bigger brother the SX500 both provide all the information the best players in the game need, in a faster and easier way, so they can focus on playing their best golf.”

Because SkyCaddie mappers have already paced out every detail of the green, the SX400 shows users its exact shape, depth and major contours on the green from anywhere on the golf course.

With the SX400 there’s no time wasted in aiming. Instead, Dynamic HoleVue technology automatically presents yardages to every hazard, carry and lay-up point on each hole from the current angle of attack, with more details and yardages appearing as you zoom in.

Both devices feature SkyCaddie’s unique IntelliPath Technology, which gives yardages to targets along and beyond your target line, instantly showing you the relevant carry and run-out distances with no need to aim. This is ideal for planning tee shots over bunkers and around dog-legs, or where you want to stop short of a lake, a ditch or the end of a fairway.

Just like the SX500, the SkyCaddie SX400 comes preloaded and ready-to-play with over 35,000 ground-verified SkyCaddie course maps. With hundreds of golf course changes mapped on foot by SkyCaddie in the UK each year, the SX400’s convenient and rapid connectivity puts the very latest golf course maps into your hand before every game of golf.

The SX400 comes in a compact, sleek, highly water-resistant body that’s easy to hold or to attach to your golf bag or golf trolley. Boasting a battery life of over 20 hours, more than three 18-hole rounds of golf, the SX400 is ready for extended playing time.

And by using multi-constellation satellite navigation systems, the SX400 provides enhanced accuracy under tough weather conditions or when under tree cover.

The SkyCaddie SX400 retails for £299.95 in the UK from October 2019, and comes with a 1-year UK & Ireland Membership (Birdie) as an introductory offer. After the first year, memberships start at £29.95 per year for the Birdie, which gives hundreds of exclusive ground-mapped course updates each year.
