Scottish golfer and former Open Champion Paul Lawrie has signed a sponsorship agreement with Pentagon Freight Services, a global service provider to the Oil & Gas and Marine sectors.
Lawrie, from Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, won the Open Championship in 1999. He went on to win four further events on the European Tour with victories in Spain, Qatar, Wales and Scotland, as well as representing the European Ryder Cup team in 1999.
Pentagon Freight Services saw a natural crossover with Lawrie and their own company values; both have become established global players, dedicated to continuous improvement with a commitment to further success and development.
George Booth (Director, Pentagon Freight Services UK PLC) announced the partnership with Lawrie and commented: “It gives us great pleasure to announce this partnership with Paul Lawrie and align Pentagon Freight Services with one of Scotland’s great achievers in sport. We both have a strong connection to the North East of Scotland but Paul also competes in many of our other key markets in Europe, the United Arab Emirates and Asia.”
Geoff Smith (CEO, Pentagon Group) added: “Our prestigious association with Paul demonstrates that Pentagon is now a global brand recognised the world over. Through this deal, we trust that our valued clients will further recognise our commitment to quality and delivery of the highest standard.”
Lawrie was also delighted to strengthen his portfolio of sponsors and is pleased to be helping promote the services of another company from his home town of Aberdeen. He stated: “I’m delighted to start a relationship with Pentagon Freight Services, a company with a strong Aberdeen presence, and I look forward to helping them with their global business.”
The agreement will see Lawrie wearing the Pentagon Freight Services corporate logo on his head-wear in the coming year.
