Transport service provider Event Connect has been announced as the Official Coach Supplier to The 2019 Solheim Cup, taking place at Gleneagles, Scotland from 9-15 September.

Event Connect, which is part of the Abellio Group, will provide coaches and drivers to transport Solheim Cup players, staff and media during the event, including the European and American teams, the PING Junior Solheim Cup teams, rules officials, VIPs and dignitaries.

The team coaches will be wrapped in Solheim Cup branding, making them easily noticeable as they take the best players in the world to Gleneagles and around Perthshire during the week.

Event Connect is no stranger to large, high-profile sporting events, haven previously been a supplier to the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2018.

Nadia Hutcheson, UK Manager, Event Connect, said: “We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of The 2019 Solheim Cup as official coach supplier, providing event transport for the professional golfers, media and officials, for what will undoubtedly be one of the biggest events in the golfing calendar this year.

“Our continued support of VisitScotland’s national events strategy, to not only bring global events to Scotland, but to deliver them at a world-class level, has brought us on board to provide a first-class transport service as part of the all-important behind the scenes operational support to ensure that everyone enjoys their experience of the Solheim Cup from start to finish.”

Ross Hallett, Senior Vice President, IMG Golf, said: “We are thrilled to have Event Connect on board and look forward to working with them over the next few months towards what will be an incredible Solheim Cup in Scotland.

“We know we have an extremely reliable, forward-thinking supplier in Event Connect, and their considerable expertise will make them invaluable to the logistics operation.”

The Solheim Cup will be screened to more than 600 million homes worldwide with the match play format aiming to engage both the traditional golf audience as well as wider sports fans, raising the profile of women’s golf both in Scotland and internationally.

The Scottish Government’s aspiration is that The 2019 Solheim Cup is the biggest ever European edition of the event and the most family-focused golf event in history with around 100,000 spectators expected at Gleneagles. Tickets are priced from just £10 for adults with children under-16 admitted free of charge. There are also a number of hospitality options available. For more information visit Solheim Cup
