De Vere Wokefield Estate has opened a new Golf Academy, which includes a new driving range.
The official launch took place on March 8, when golfing legend Dame Laura Davies officially opened the new facilities.
The new academy will be used for coaching by the hotel’s four professionals and will feature technology such as a ball launch and swing monitors. The driving range comprises eight indoor bays and seven fully-lit outdoor bays, which can be used as part of corporate and leisure packages.
Ciaran Sheehy, Group Golf Sales Manager at De Vere, said: “We are excited to announce the launch of De Vere Wokefield Estate’s new Golf Academy and driving range. We’re constantly looking at ways to enhance the golf experience for our guests and members, and the addition of these quality facilities will enable us to attract more golfers and provide group coaching sessions for corporate clients, as part of teambuilding activities.”
Set in 250 acres of Berkshire parkland, the estate boasts an 18-hole Championship golf course; a practice green with two bunkers, and a putting green. The resort’s hotel has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment and now offers 87 luxury guestrooms in the Mansion House, and a further 289 refurbished bedrooms in Wokefield Place and Wellington Lodge. There is also the 1560 Restaurant & Bar in the Mansion House; a Whiskey Lounge; the re-designed restaurant, The View, and Benedict’s Bar located in Wokefield Place.
