Trafford Golf Centre, the UK’s busiest driving range, has unveiled a new short game practice area following a £30,000 investment.
Featuring Huxley synthetic turf, the 120 square-metre all-weather area at the Manchester-based venue includes a True Roll Putting Green (stimping at 10.5), realistic feel chipping and pitching turf, including sloping lie area, real sand bunker, target landing greens and sloping lie mats.
Pete Styles, Director of Golf at Trafford Golf Centre and Dino Falls Adventure Golf, said: “We’re proud to be the biggest golf academy in the north west and the addition of this superb short game practice area ensures our Academy continues to get bigger and better for our customers. As we move into spring, we look forward to making the most out of the facility with our academy pupils to help them to improve their games.”
Fully floodlit for late-night practice sessions throughout the year, the short game practice area is open to Academy members for practice sessions between their lessons. The area will be charged at £5 per hour off peak, £8 per hour peak times (off peak times are Monday to Friday before 5pm & before 11am on weekends).
Last year, the Trafford-based facility revolutionised its driving range by installing Toptracer to 16 bays following a £90,000 investment. The ball-tracking technology experience appeals to seasoned players, range rivals, friends, family members, and even first-time golfers. Last year over 14 million balls were hit at the range, which boasts 57 bay and employs nine PGA professionals and is home to the the largest American Golf retail store in the north.
