Former golf PR Anneli Lort has a smash hit on her hands with her literary debut, ‘The Sweet Spot’, topping the charts in both the UK and America.
The novel is a contemporary tale of intrigue, ambition and white-hot emotion that roams from a sleepy English village to the thrilling, jet-setting lifestyle of international sports stardom.
Anneli signed a three-book publishing contract with Creativia in May and her debut novel went on sale last month. Within the first 24 hours The Sweet Spot catapulted into the top ten of sports fiction books on Amazon in the UK and USA, and featured as a ‘hot new release’ on the Amazon Kindle store homepage.
Next, early this month The Sweet Spot topped both the sports fiction and highly competitive contemporary romance charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
The Sweet Spot delves into the glittering world of professional golf and takes the reader on a journey to some of the game’s most famous courses. It has all the ingredients of the best modern romance. There’s a feisty heroine, a smouldering hero, a beautiful village setting, dogs, horses, love, hate, passion and action – both on and off the golf course.
In a public relations career that spanned more than two decades Anneli worked closely with elite professionals at the highest level and with some of the world’s biggest sporting companies. With this came an access-all-areas pass to the greatest sports events on the planet where she saw for herself the tension, drama and emotions that were played out behind the scenes. This is the rich and enviable background she brings to The Sweet Spot.
“The years I spent working in golf and on Tour gave me a unique insight that enabled me to develop the idea that eventually became The Sweet Spot,” said Anneli. “I wanted to create a character driven world of contemporary romance that is both heartwarming and engaging and, at the same time, show a wider audience the behind-the-scenes drama and intrigue that makes golf a lot more glamorous and sexy than they think.”
Anneli is currently writing the second novel in the Appleton Vale series – The Country Club – which will be on sale in December 2017.
The Sweet Spot is available now as an e-book on Amazon Kindle and Goodreads and the paperback version is on sale mid-August from all good book shops and online. http://mybook.to/TheSweetSpot
