Well-deserved Congratulations

April 19th, 2016

There are some weeks when, frankly, I suffer from ‘awards-fatigue’. It’s the result of receiving an overdose of press releases announcing that so-and-so has received such-and-such and is therefore expecting to make headline news.

Today, however, I have no hesitation in publishing news of the England Golf Awards as’s top story. The winners – golfers and golf clubs who make the game great and inspire others to play – include a man who proved that ‘Golf’s Got Talent’ and attracted 5000 girls to try the game, the club owner who has doubled his membership, the professional who is packing lessons with learners, the club which used its 125th anniversary to plan for the future, and the 15-year-old who inspires other disabled people to play.
