Vital Week for England Golf

November 11th, 2011

A vote to merge the English Golf Union and the English Women’s Golf Association into a single ‘National Governing Body for golf’ will take place next Wednesday, 16th November. believes that the majority of club members want the merger to happen so that new players and corporate partners see golf as a “welcoming sport that is united, rather than divided into two bodies”. We hope that the vote itself will reflect these views and we argue the case in more detail in the article below Will they? Should they? (merge)

That story may interest only our readers in England but we are sure that devotees all over the world will celebrate the news of Arnold Palmer’s 20th hole-in-one.  Mr Palmer carded a 79 to beat his age by three shots. How very sensible to score a hole-in-one on your own golf course!
