Today’s top golf industry stories

May 6th, 2016

The emphasis in many of our stories this week and, indeed most weeks, is upon attracting new golfers. Of course that’s an accurate reflection of what’s going on all round the world, especially in the so-called ‘mature’ markets, but the figures demonstrate that golf’s real problem is retaining these new players in years to come.

That’s why it’s good to see that both the R&A, with its recent promotion of a 9 hole Tournament at Royal Troon, and the USGA, through its PLAY9 initiative, are actively educating and rallying golfers around the concept of the nine-hole round as a simple yet effective solution to address the challenge of fitting golf into busy days.

For most people time management is a daily problem. So I shall not detain you any longer. There are 29 stories for you to look at in today’s edition of the GBN.com Newsletter. Enjoy the read.
