Suggestions that golf’s dress code should be more relaxed always creates debate and our report in May that Thomas Devine, the coach to the junior members at Oulton Hall near Leeds, had allowed his students to practice in tracksuit bottoms and hoodies, was one of the most-read stories of the month.
Devine’s example is being followed across five QHotels and two Double Tree by Hilton properties which means that leading venues Belton Woods, Forest Pines, Dunston Hall, Slaley Hall, Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, and Glasgow Westerwood Spa & Golf Resort are now cool and comfortable places to be, surely a move that not only benefits junior golfers but, in the long term, the sport itself.
