The Belfry sale update and other breaking golf news

December 22nd, 2011

I said that last week’s Newsletter would be the last of 2011 but it’s been such a busy time for breaking golf business news that I thought we should pass it on as quickly as possible.

So, in addition to The Belfry sale news, we have reports about a major new investor in the american golf retail business, a new legal advice service from the UK’s Home Unions, Justin Timberlake’s appointment as a creative advisor to Callaway Golf, continuing confidence in Scottish Golf Tourism, some provocative ideas from John Solheim about a golf ball distance rating system, a study on the benefits of cleated shoes, the announcement of a new competition sponsored by Golf Live and GBD Magazine to find the best and most innovative ideas for new golf products/services  and our encouragement for all readers with access to BBC TV to vote for the three golfers who are in the running for SPOTY (Sports Personality Of The Year). Only two golfers have won this award in the past 55 years so it’s high time for another.

Think of this Newsletter as your Christmas Bonus!
