Sing out for the Grass Roots Heroes

May 25th, 2012

This week we carry a report from Wentworth about the Golf Foundation President’s Awards. We would like to add our congratulations to all the winners and our thanks, too.

Not just in Great Britain but all over the world, there are groups of people who are absolutely and completely dedicated to grass roots junior golf. They inspire, encourage and support the youngsters; they try to break down barriers on behalf of the youngsters; they raise funds, give up their own time, and  dedicate themselves to helping and developing young people with Skills for Life, both playing and personal.

Those of us in the business of golf clearly benefit from the work of these ‘unsung heroes’. The youngsters that they introduce to the sport turn into our customers, our members, our readers, our clients. That’s why it is so important that we get behind the Golf Foundation and similar initiatives around the world and give them financial support. It’s an investment in the future of our business. What are you waiting for?
