‘Positivity’ is in the air

March 18th, 2015

Colin Mayes, Chairman of the UK Golf Course Owners Association, opened this week’s Golf Business & Industry Convention at Marriott Forest of Arden by asking delegates to get into a positive mood. Burhill Golf, of which Colin is CEO, has had a good start to the year. Many other delegates agreed; with John Andrew of Direct Golf UK, for example, stating that like-for-like growth has been the norm in all sectors of his business for the past seven months in a row.

Towards the end of the Convention, Doug Poole outlined the plans for National Golf Month – a concentrated effort across the U.K. in May which aims to bring back lapsed golfers, engage more lady golfers, and generally welcome families to their local clubs: in short, the objective is clear, to make Golf accessible to everyone.

At GBN.com we are pleased to confirm our support for this industry-wide initiative.
