Yesterday we carried news of ‘Golf Express’, the campaign that promotes 9-hole golf and encourages players to take advantage of long summer evenings to enjoy after-work ‘roll-ups’. It’s part of an England Golf project to increase participation and club membership.
Today we have a report about the US Golf Association’s Second Annual PLAY9 Day (in partnership with American Express, no less). In support of the PLAY9 initiative, the USGA will deploy a multi-channel national campaign to rally golfers of all skill and interest levels around PLAY9 Day. There are some excellent promotional materials including a checklist entitled Nine reasons why it’s cool to play nine which is definitely worth reading.
