New Performance Study may speed up play

October 19th, 2016

RSM, a leading audit, tax and consulting firm, and the European Tour are collaborating on a new player performance study

The study, launched last week at the British Masters supported by Sky Sports, will explore a number of factors with the potential to affect golf performance, including:

  • Time spent at address – is there an optimal amount of time to spend over the ball?
  • Player behaviour – number of looks at target, increased practice swings, negative reactions, etc.

When it comes to pace of play, some Tour players are accused of setting a bad example. Perhaps this is about to change.
