Mad about Spitting

July 26th, 2013

I do not often use my position as editor of GBN.com to have a private ‘rant’ but this week I am going to make an exception:

To me it is totally unacceptable for golfers to spit on to the golf course.

It is a disgusting habit and sets an appalling example, particularly to the younger fans of the game – especially when the act is broadcast on television to the watching millions.

Spitting may not be against the Rules of Golf but it is certainly against the Etiquette. Would The R&A, The European Tour, The PGA Tour and all the other powers that be please do something about this soon?
