Growing the Game At The Open

July 24th, 2015

The Open Championship was an inspiration for people to play the game, with twenty-two PGA coaches giving upwards of 3,000 free lessons to members of the public in the R&A Swingzone and celebrity appearances by golf stars such as Justin Rose, Bubba Watson, Laura Davies, Sam Torrance and Colin Montgomerie; along with Brian O’Driscoll and Jonathan Davies from the world of rugby and tennis great Tim Henman.

We can only echo the words of Brendon Pyle, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, who said, “I’d like to think our team and our partners at St Andrews have inspired the young people further, helping to create new players at the Home of Golf – perhaps some of whom will be champion golfers themselves one day.”
