No less than 45,000 spectators from 96 different countries are expected to attend each day of the 40th Ryder Cup Matches which commence with the Fourballs at 07.35 on Friday 26th September – a moment which has been in the planning stage for no less than 13 years (normally the host venue get 7 years, but Gleneagles has always been a special case). is among the 946 members of the written press, photographers, internet and radio journalists who are here; the daily worldwide television audience is estimated at 544 million.
