Golf on the Front Page

October 5th, 2012

Last weekend’s extraordinary Ryder Cup Match put Golf on the front pages of newspapers and into the main news bulletins of TV networks on both sides of the ‘pond’. The achievement of Team Europe was so remarkable that it brought golf to the attention of a largely non-golf-playing public. Let us hope that some of the excitement will go on to generate new interest in the sport.

It was, of course, the magnificent European come-back that captured the imagination of the mass media, but both the Teams and all the Officials and Volunteers deserve our thanks for their contribution to what has turned into an unforgettable Summer of Sport.
