Golf on show

July 15th, 2011

Today we publish the latest information about the arrangements for Golf to return as an Olympic sport in 2016. But we do not need to wait another 5 years for golf to be in the international spotlight.

This weekend The Open Championship will be viewed  by millions of people all around the world, the vast majority of whom will be non-golfers.

What a showcase for our sport and for its great players! Let us hope that the viewing experience drives more and more people to take up this amazing game – a game that can be played by everyone, no matter their physical size or age.

Is it not remarkable that the most senior player in this weeks’ Championship is (just about) old enough to the grandfather of the youngest?
