Awards all round

May 24th, 2013

Golf Foundation President’s Awards were held at Wentworth on Wednesday courtesy of The European Tour and Wentworth Club. Nine awards were presented to some real heroes of grass roots junior golf; top volunteers and professionals.

From an 11-year-old who has gained greater social confidence by golfing, to a group that has performed wonders in changing the mindset of hard-to-reach youngsters through golf, to a man who has raised nearly £300,000 all for the next generation of young golfers. There are some inspirational stories and great ideas too.

Of course we know that such work goes on in the golfing community all over the world and that public recognition of these efforts goes only to the very few. To the many thousands involved with growing the game we send our thanks and congratulations!
