Just as The Masters marks what many people in the United States regard as the beginning of the golfing year, so the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club is seen as the curtain raiser for golf in Europe.
This year the Championship is immediately preceded by Golf LIVE at London Golf Club in Kent, where amateur golfers can learn from the world’s best players up close and personal, and immediately followed by the world’s first professional PowerPlay Golf tournament at Celtic Manor Resort.
Hailed as golf’s equivalent to Twenty20 Cricket, the event is officially titled ‘PowerPlay Golf driven by Saab: IGNITION’ and takes place on Monday 30th May. If you cannot be present in person you can watch the live broadcast on Sky Sports 3.
