A Full House

September 30th, 2011

Europe’s victory in last weekend’s Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle completes an astonishing year for European golf.

The Ryder Cup, The Walker Cup and The Solheim Cup are all held by the teams from this side of ‘the pond’ along with The US Open Championship and, of course, The Open Championship. That hasn’t happened since…. well, EVER.

If this was football, just imagine what coverage these achievements would be getting from the media.

Well, that’s not going to happen, so perhaps it’s time that all of us in any way involved with the game of golf stood up and were counted. Heaven knows that we have earned the ‘bragging rights’.
