The birthplace of The Open recently celebrated the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Tom Morris who was responsible for both the original 12-hole course in 1851 and its extension to 18 holes in 1882

English Heritage has unveiled a ‘blue plaque’ to commemorate one of the boyhood homes of Sir Henry Cotton. Cotton is the first professional golfer to be honoured in this way.
