The headquarters of the PGA Scottish Region are to move from Glenbervie Golf Club to Gleneagles. To mark this event and also the PGA centenary year, the Jack Nicklaus designed Monarch’s course at Gleneagles is to be renamed The PGA Centenary Course

The suggestion that Scotland’s golf facilities can be used to develop a niche market in golf tourism cannot be justified in terms of the quality and quantity of golf facilities available to tourists. This is one of several controversial conclusions contained in a new research report “The Management and Marketing of Scotland’s golf facilities” by the independent consultant Dr Robert Price, who argues that in this market sector demand already exceeds supply

At last month’s Conference of The Association of Golf Club Secretaries (held at the University of St Andrews) there was a major surprise in the final session when delegates were given the opportunity to raise their own ‘hot topics’ with representatives of golf’s ruling bodies.
