A survey of 82 golf clubs in the UK has found that 23% of clubs – less than 20 – have seen a drop in membership over the last 12 months, while the remaining 77% have seen numbers either remain stable or have increased during that period, pointing to a mixed picture in relation to the direction that golf club membership is heading in the UK in coming year.

An annual survey of private and proprietary-owned golf clubs in the UK has revealed that golf club membership remains on the rise, as has the cost of a round of golf, over the last 12 months. 

Chartered Accountants firm Hillier Hopkins has launched its annual survey of golf clubs in partnership with the Golf Club Secretary newsletter and the UK Golf Federation.
