An insight into the economic benefits of The 147th Open at Carnoustie has been revealed through a survey conducted by Angus Council who manage Carnoustie Country, the region’s golf destination brand.

Formed by husband-and-wife team Mark and Yvonne Alexander, Golf, food and tourism agency The Word Association is marking its 10th anniversary by reaching a number of important milestones and announcing plans for expansion

Following the success of last year’s Carnoustie Country Festival of Golf, plans are well underway for the 2014 Festival, which will take place in and around the county of Angus from 4-12 October
