7.57am 18th October 2011 - Travel

An Edinburgh-based luxury golf tours and events business is promoting the UK’s luxury golf market and aims to increase golf visitors from USA and Canada. Family-run business Golf3000 is heading to LA and Toronto this Autumn to take part in Whisky Live, one of the biggest international whisky trade and consumer shows.

The Golf3000 team create unique golf experiences in Scotland and Ireland offering customers access to a number of ‘hidden gems’ during their trip including the finest golf courses, luxury accommodation and five star experiences including distillery tours and private air travel. Customers can request a tailor-made itinerary based on their specific requirements and interests or build a trip around one of Golf3000’s more popular luxury golf tour itineraries.

Golf3000 will have a stand at Whisky Live LA on 21st October and Whisky Live Toronto on 4th November providing visitors with a taster of some of their luxury golf itineraries. Whisky Live celebrates the oldest, rarest and best whiskies and bourbons in the world and allows enthusiasts to taste an incredible range of distilled spirits from Scotland to Japan.

David Stirling, a Director at Golf 3000 based in the US, said: “The recent successes of UK and Irish players such as Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald and the Ryder Cup returning to Scotland in 2014 has boosted interest in the European golf market again and provides a great platform for us to attract new business to the “home of golf”.

“There is a concerted effort by the Scottish tourism industry to boost visitor numbers to Scotland around the success of golf but there is a gap in the market for tailored trips that offer luxury experiences and exceptional customer service. Contrary to cliches, Scotland is a luxury destination and offers a wealth of high-end experiences which we want visitors to enjoy. We have some of the world’s best golf courses, beautiful castles which offer unique accommodation and the number of restaurants with Michelin stars is growing.

“Golf3000 has an experienced and well-connected team at our bases in Edinburgh,Toronto,New YorkandGeorgiawith personal links to the finest courses, accommodation and activities in Scotland that other tour operators cannot reach. Our customers pay good money for the best quality possible and it is our aim to provide a five-star experience from their first contact with us to their departure home.

“Whisky Live provides us with a great opportunity to talk directly to our customer profile who are interested in the heritage and ancestry of Scotland, want to taste the world’s best whisky and play on some the world’s most iconic golf courses.”

Golf3000 will be blogging from Whisky Live in LA at www.golf3000.com.
