After a strong performance in 2014, – the UK’s leading online tee-time booking service – has started the new year where it left off with a strong showing at the prestigious British Excellence in Sales & Marketing Awards, organised by the Institute of Sales & Marketing.

Despite facing stiff opposition from rivals working for a host of well-known companies, Chris Knight and Duncan Rougvie were recognised in what is the one of the industry’s most highly-regarded awards.

Sales Manager, Chris Knight, won Sales Professional of the Year, while Duncan Rougvie was highly commended by judges in the Account Manager of the Year category.

In his first full year with the company Chris toured the country, talking to clubs about how they might generate more revenue through their previously unsold tee-times. That he was able to sign up more than 220 clubs to is testament to the hard work and ability recognised by the judges.

“I am extremely pleased to have won Sales Professional of the Year at the recent BESMA event,” said Chris. “The experience has allowed me to reflect on and further improve my sales processes; it’s also great to see a smaller business such as competing against the major brands that entered the awards.” Account Director, Duncan Rougvie, also enjoyed a strong 2014, proving an invaluable link between the business and the clubs, working closely with them to ensure a very profitable relationship. “Taking part in the BESMA awards was an invaluable and rewarding experience,” said Rougvie.

“Being tested against some of the UK’s leading businesses and professionals was a fantastic challenge and I’m very proud to have been counted amongst the best of them.”

The awards highlighted the strength in depth of the account management team, coming on the back of previous award successes for both Rob Saunders and Rob Corcoran. The BESMA results also capped a fine 12 months for, which enjoyed 33% growth in 2014.

General Manager, Richard Barker, was delighted with the recognition the pair received, saying: “I’m personally delighted for both Chris and Duncan and this is a reward for their sterling work in 2014.
