Radnor Hills Water has been announced as the Official Water Supplier to the 2017 Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex, which takes place from July 27-30 at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club.

The Welsh company, which has previously partnered the European Senior Tour at the SSE Enterprise Wales Senior Open and Willow Senior Golf Classic, produced 175 million bottles in 2015 and has increased its production capacity to 300 million bottles in 2016, also the year of the company’s 25th anniversary.

Radnor Hills bottle a diverse range of soft drinks from Flavoured Waters, School Compliant Drinks, Natural Spring Water, Premium Adult Pressés, Pure Fruits Juices and Sports Isotonic Drinks. All are produced on their site based in Radnorshire where they are extremely proud of their strong Welsh heritage.

The Senior Open Championship, co-owned by the Senior Tour and The R&A, will be held at Royal Porthcawl for the second time in its history after hosting the 2014 edition of the prestigious event, which was won in stunning fashion by former Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer.

William Watkins, founder of Radnor Hills, said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Senior Open Championship next year. Supplying Welsh water for a major tournament being held in Wales seems a great fit.”

David MacLaren, Head of the European Senior Tour, on behalf of the Championship, said: “With the Championship returning to Royal Porthcawl next year, we are delighted to see a Welsh company partner the Senior Open on home soil in 2017. We created a strong relationship with Radnor Hills in 2016 and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership with William and his team when we return to Royal Porthcawl in July.”

England’s Paul Broadhurst will defend his title, which he won at Carnoustie this year, against stiff competition from golfing icons including John Daly, Colin Montgomerie, Sam Torrance, Tom Watson and Ian Woosnam. Also eligible to make their first Senior Open appearances are former Ryder Cup Captains José María Olazábal and Paul McGinley, who turns 50 in December.

American Ryder Cup players Steve Stricker and David Toms, who also won the 2001 US PGA Championship, could also make their Senior Open debuts.

Tickets to see the line-up of former Major Champions and Ryder Cup stars take part in The Senior Open Championship are now on sale, and hospitality packages are also available.

Spectators can buy tickets by visiting www.senioropenchampionship.com or by calling +44 (0) 800 023 2557, or on the gate.
