The English Golf Union has announced that their official England team playing kit for 2008 will be supplied by Oscar Jacobson.
The agreement means that all three teams, boys, mens and seniors, as well as individual players representing England will wear polos, sweaters, trousers and blazers from the Oscar Jacobson Golf Collection. Following the 2008 season Oscar Jacobson have the option to continue their partnership with the EGU for subsequent years.
This is the first time any of the amateur golf Home Unions has had their team clothing supplied by Oscar Jacobson, who are considered to be one of the most best golf brands in Europe and work with the Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and PGA Cup teams and are the official clothing supplier to the European Tour.
In addition there are a number of English connections as the company has players from England representing Oscar Jacobson when on tour and Paul Broadhurst, who represented England over 20 times as an amateur player, has also worn Oscar Jacobson on tour for the past few years.
Peter Bannington, UK sales and marketing manager for Oscar Jacobson said, “We feel very proud to be able to support the England team. The English players clearly have great talent and to be involved at a national level with golfers who will no doubt prove to be the famous names in the future is very exciting.”
In addition to the support of the England teams, Oscar Jacobson will also be supplying the EGU staff, based at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa, with shirts, trousers and blazers.
