Kent based company ‘One Up Golf’ is delighted to announce the sponsorship of the Welsh team at next week’s European Nations Cup in Alicante, Spain.
The tournament takes place from the 14th – 17th April 2010, at La Sella Golf Resort in Alicante. Defending champions Sweden will head the list of eighteen countries vying to win this prestigious event, and for One Up Golf, sponsorship of the Welsh team provides an opportunity to showcase its impressive offering via the professional golfing world.
‘Having been involved with the Kent County team at the amateur level, this is a significant step up to the next level for us,” said One Up Golf’s Managing Director Ian Spicer. “However given the high quality of our clothing together with a very loyal fan base, we have always been on the lookout for the right kind of international opportunity. We feel sponsoring Wales at the European Nations Cup fits in very nicely with our profile and our stylish collection.”
The Welsh team consists of two-time tour winner Becky Brewerton, and Bridgend’s Lydia Hall, who finished 2010 with an impressive showing at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
‘The European Nations Cup is a great week, and in recent years has also become a bit of a fashion statement for many of the teams,” said Becky. “With this in mind, One Up Golf is an ideal sponsor for us, and both Lydia and I are very grateful to Ian and the team for providing some really great outfits for the event.”
Based in Hythe, Kent, One Up Golf have been designing ladies golf clothing for over 10 years. The extensive range of One Up Golf’s offering in particular was of great appeal to Becky, who is not only looking forward to wearing the clothing throughout the week, but also guiding Wales to European success.
“It’s always good to look the part,” said Becky who finished 5th at last week’s Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco. “But in addition to the terrific One Up Golf clothes we will be wearing, Lydia and I would like to put in a great showing for Wales.”
