Mere Golf & Country Club, near Knutsford in Cheshire, will host this year’s Dan Technology Senior Tournament of Champions from 5th to 7th October. The European Seniors Tour embraces 23 tournaments across 16 countries with a total prize fund of £4.3 million. Up to 10,000 spectators per day are expected at the Tournament of Champions which features the season’s tournament winners and leading players from the Order of Merit.

Dan is an acknowledged UK leader in the provision of systems and solutions for homes, businesses and education. On Friday 5th October children from hundreds of schools will be invited to visit the Dan Innovation Centre where they will be able to try out the technology on display, play a whole host of interactive and exciting games and discover how computers can provide effective and enjoyable interactive learning.

Mere Golf & Country Club is renowned as one of the most challenging golf courses in the UK. Designed by Open Champions James Braid and George Duncan in 1934 and opened on 11th May 1935, recent improvements include the rebuilding of tees, the introduction of hundreds of mature trees and the construction of new water features and pathways.

“We are extremely proud to be hosting such a prestigious tournament,” said Barrie Stanley, managing director. “Our success is testimony to heavy investment into Mere Golf & Country Club over recent years as well as having a first class event management team and one of the finest championship golf courses in north west England.”
