Pinnacle – one of the UK’s highest selling golf ball brands – has become an Official Golf Ball Supplier to the Golf Foundation and will provide 1,770 dozen golf balls each year to the Golf Foundation, throughout 2006 and 2007. The golf balls will be used in children’s golf events and also fundraising club activities like the Foundation’s Adult/Junior Foursomes and the annual Charity Challenge. All the golf balls supplied will be stamped with the Golf Foundation logo and Pinnacle logo to show a joint commitment to helping the junior game.
World-leading golf ball brand Titleist has also signed an agreement to become an Official Golf Ball Supplier to the Golf Foundation for 2006 and 2007. Under the agreement, Titleist, the number one golf ball supplier to the US PGA and PGA European Tours, will provide 230 dozen NXT golf balls each year for three Golf Foundation related events. These are: the BGIA Golf Day, at Frilford Heath in April; the Golf Foundation Pro-Am, held at The Buckinghamshire in October, and the regional finals and grand final of the prestigious Golf Foundation Junior Championships (an event entered by 5,000 juniors annually and won in the past by Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and Mhairi McKay). All the golf balls supplied will be stamped with the Golf Foundation logo and Titleist logo.
Thanks to the renewed sponsorship deal with Highland Spring Natural Mineral Water, the Scottish-based international company will supply Highland Spring Natural Mineral Water at a range of the charity’s events, including the qualifiers and finals of the Golf Foundation Junior Championships, activities at the R&A Junior Golf Centre at this year’s Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, the British Golf Industry Association’s Golf Day at Frilford Heath and a total of 22 Tri-Golf fun-days that make up the Golf Foundation’s Festival Fortnight in March.
Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said, “This is absolutely fantastic news and shows a wonderful commitment to junior golf in Britain by these brands. This kind of support will help maintain our momentum in bringing many new youngsters to the game and thus protect the future of the sport.”
