Jessica Korda signs multi-year sponsorship deal with FootJoy

4.15pm 26th May 2022 - Sponsorship & Events

World no.14 Jessica Korda has signed a multi-year, head-to-toe sponsorship deal with FootJoy that will see the 29-year-old American become the first LPGA Tour player to sign up to a full apparel, glove and shoe contract with the brand.

Already the no.1 shoe and glove on the LPGA Tour, chosen by players like Ariya and Maya Jutanugarn, Brittany Lincicome, Austin Ernst, Bronte Law and countless others, Korda will be the first player to wear FootJoy women’s apparel.

A six-time winner, Jessica’s most recent victory came last season at the 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions. This capped a tremendous year in which she made the cut in all 17 events that she competed. She has already secured two top-10s in four events this season, including a runner-up finish at the season’s first major championship.

Korda is a truly global player, with victories in Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and in theBahamas. She has also competed in three Solheim Cup events and represented the United States at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

“I spend a lot of time figuring out what shoes and apparel are best for my game and to work with a company that only focuses on the game of golf is such an awesome advantage,” said Korda. “They really understand my needs as a player.”

Not surprisingly, this commitment to determining the best products for her game has led Korda to be a fixture amongst the game’s elite players. Throughout the testing process, Jessica has experimented with a wide range of shoes. She has enjoyed the variety of shoes offered by FJ, but also knows what works best for her game.

“It’s so great to work with this incredible team, and there are just so many options which is one of the coolest things. It’s not just one shoe for every type of player.

“My swing is so feel-orientated and it honestly goes from my feet up, where I can notice things like how firm or soft the ground and can sense any breaks in the greens. That’s where the shot process starts for me and then I make my decisions from there. That’s why footwear is such an important piece of equipment for me. I also focus on how the shoe holds during impact. I need enough stability to hold my foot in place while also allowing me to roll my left foot a little bit.”

Jessica will also be wearing apparel from FootJoy’s Women’s Performance Apparel range and has been working closely with the team to not only find items that fit her style, but also influencing products in the development process based on her experience as a femaleathlete and one of the best female golfers in the world.

Jessica added: “I really like the materials they use. They’re very flattering, the colours areexcellent and everything is so comfortable whether you’re playing golf or wearing them off the course. Like footwear, they just have so many options for women, whether it’s long sleeve, short sleeve, pants, skorts or sun protection items. These are important to golfers, but also women in general.”

Jessica will continue her season at the US Women’s Open at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in North Carolina, which takes place from June 2-5.
