Long-standing sponsor Glenmuir was recognised in a special presentation on the eve of the PGA Professional Championship at De Vere Carden Park.

PGA captain Eddie Bullock handed over an engraved plaque to Glenmuir managing director Colin Mee to celebrate its 20th year of sponsorship of flagship event.

“Glenmuir has been a great supporter of the PGA and of this tournament in particular and this plaque reflects the thanks of the PGA for that support,” said Bullock.

Mee added: “This is the 40th staging of the PGA Professional Championship and we have been involved for 20 of them.

“PGA professionals are the core of our business and sponsoring this tournament is a way of us putting a little something back.

“Apart from that we really enjoy the tournament, have made a lot of friends over the years and I want congratulate all the players that have made it through to the final and also thank the 650 PGA professionals that entered in the regional qualifiers.”

Also honoured were the winners from each of regional qualifiers who received a crystal bowl from Glenmuir.

The recipients were: Paul Hendriksen (Dinnaton – West Region), Henry Aldridge (David Lloyd Golf Hampton, South), Aran Wainwright (Mid Yorkshire, North East), Paul Sherman (Ashford, Midland), Jimmy Bolger (Kilkenny, Irish), Joost Steenkamer (Netherlands Golf Federatie, East), Gareth Wright (West Linton, Scottish), Graham McEwan (Clitheroe, North West), and Laura Hendriksen (The Palace, WPGA).
