Glenmuir, one of Europe’s leading golf apparel brands, has provided a new ‘uniform’ for the PGAs of Europe Golf Development Professionals – a team of specialists who travel to all corners of the globe to help start and manage golf projects, as a part of The R&A Golf Development Programme

The 30 GDPs will sport smart crested Glenmuir shirts, sweaters and wind shirts as they play a key role, alongside The R&A, in the global expansion of the game of golf particularly in countries without an established golf infrastructure or where the game needs expert assistance.

So far, the new uniforms have been seen in Tunisia, Botswana, Serbia, Turkey and Latvia while members of team will also be heading to Algeria, Paraguay, Moscow, Costa Rica, Chile, Kazakhstan and Ghana later this year. Each garment carries The R&A Working For Golf logo and PGAs of Europe logo.

Tony Bennett, Director of Education at the PGAs of Europe, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Glenmuir and the new clothing has helped to give the team a clear professional identity and makes them instantly identifiable.

“The team of very experienced and qualified PGA professionals have a wide range of skills and competencies and are able to provide help and assistance throughout the golf development process.

“We work very closely with The R&A and in many cases we are at the very forefront of golf development in a country, so it’s vital we have a professional appearance.”

With its own heritage stretching back to 1891, helping to develop new interest in golf at playing and business levels in countries like Botswana, Algeria and Latvia is something Glenmuir is proud to be assisting.

Said Glenmuir managing director, Colin Mee: “This association with the PGAs of Europe clearly identifies Glenmuir as a brand that has the promotion and continued global growth of golf at its heart.

“With the massive and rapid expansion of the game in countries like China, Korea and India, it’s clear the game is moving East but there’s also a lot of great development work going on in places such as South America, Africa and Eastern Europe, so we’re delighted to be helping the trailblazers in those countries too.”

Glenmuir is a preferred supplier to The European Ryder Cup Team, will be lead vendor in the Ryder Cup Merchandise Pavilion at this year’s Ryder Cup in Wales, and is exclusive licensee of Open Championship official merchandise.
