Ecco Golf has renewed its commercial partnership with 1992 Masters champion Fred Couples.

Couples’ performance in the 2010 Masters, while wearing Ecco’s new Golf Street shoe, launched the hybrid golf shoe category to the world, and the American will continue to wear the brand’s shoes and sport the Ecco Golf logo on the left of his headwear as a result of signing a new multi-year sponsorship extension.

“I honestly can’t imagine competing in any other shoes,” said 59-year-old Couples, who has 62 tournament victories to his name on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. “Ecco Golf has been a big part of my journey for over a decade, and I’m ecstatic to be partnering with them for the foreseeable future.”

Jesper Thuen, Ecco Golf’s global golf sponsorship manager, said: “Fred has been an amazing ambassador for our brand for over a decade. He’s an incredible golfer, a true legend of the game, and we’re very proud to be able to continue such a successful partnership together.”

In addition to Couples, Ecco Golf shoes are worn in competition around the world by many leading players, including European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjørn, Lydia Ko, Minjee Lee and Caroline Masson.
