Footjoy team up with English Golf Union and Golf Union of Wales

12.20am 15th December 2008 - Sponsorship & Events

FootJoy is to sponsor the English Golf Union (EGU) and the Golf Union of Wales (GUW) by providing a selection of FootJoy products that will be used by the Men’s, Junior and Seniors squads of England and Wales.

The market leading shoe brand will be supporting the EGU and GUW with shoes from the Classics®, SYNR-G™ and MyJoys® range, in addition to jackets, trousers and windshirts from FootJoy’s Outerwear collection, while the GUW will also be receiving MyJoys and Outerwear garments.

FootJoy’s innovative MyJoys personalisation programme allows golfers to create their own unique designs; the MyJoys being provided to the EGU will all carry the English Rose logo of the governing body, while the iconic Welsh dragon is being added to the MyJoys for the GUW.

MyJoys was successfully introduced and launched four years ago and golfers can create their pair of shoes from over 210,000 styles and combinations by logging on to the www.footjoy.co.uk/myjoys/ microsite.

FootJoy will also be personalising the Outerwear products it is providing to both governing bodies, as these garments will also carry the EGU logo and the Welsh dragon.

FootJoy’s European marketing manager, Richard Fryer said, “FootJoy is delighted to be able to support the English Golf Union and the Golf Union of Wales. We very much appreciate the work that both governing bodies do to developing the amateur game in England and Wales and are proud to be involved in helping some of the best amateur players in the UK.”

Lynne Fraser, EGU marketing and pr Manager added, “The EGU is delighted to be working with FootJoy, one of the most influential names in the golf industry and their support is valued enormously by both the EGU as the governing body as well as the individual players. We look forward to the England players reflecting the same quality and excellence found in the FootJoy brand.”
