Fila’s heritage in golf dates back to the early ‘80s. Using Italian inspired design coupled with innovative performance attributes, Fila is launching a new luxury performance golf collection for men and women for Spring 2006. The range consists of tailored, high-end Italian products that are sophisticated in styling and uncompromising in attention to detail.
Its unique design perspective brings form and function together in the highest form, Every top in the range has a moisture-management technology that wicks perspiration away from the skin to the outer fabric for quick evaporation, keeping the golfer drier and cooler.
Products in the range feature the highest quality natural fibres combined with performance technologies such as moisture management, UK protection and anti-microbial protection. Soft compacted Pima cotton 60/2 and 80/2 yards are combined with a hydrophilic finish for moisture management and a UV finish for protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Additionally the range incorporates Lycra into a majority of the styles for increased freedom of movement and mobility.
The range also consists of luxurious silk/cashmere sweaters, an extensive offering of bottoms as well as a complete collection of outerwear. Drawing upon Fila’s expertise in mountain products they have incorporated features such as stretch knit panels on windwear, softshell jackets and stretch woven rainwear that is fully seam sealed with waterproof zippers.
Fila will formally launch the collection as the official apparel sponsor of the 2005 Seve Trophy at The Wynyard Club in England. As part of the new agreement, Fila will outfit the competitors and the event staff in official Seve Trophy merchandise. Fila also has exclusive rights to develop and sell Seve Trophy licensed merchandise. To leverage its sponsorship, Fila will implement an integrated merchandising, marketing and retail program during the tournament.
