Carr Golf announces 2013 Calendar of Events

Carr Golf events have attracted 4,000 participants over the past 24 years and expect 200 teams to participate in its events in 2013.

In July, the 5th World Invitational Father & Daughter will be played, once again, at  Doonbeg GC and Lahinch GC, with families basing themselves at the 5 star Luxury Lodge at Doonbeg from the 17th to 20th July. A number of family and non-golf spouse activities have been arranged yet again for 2013.

In August, the main event on Carr Golf’s Calendar is the 24rd World Invitational Father & Son Tournament which will be held, once again, at Waterville Golf Links, Co. Kerry from 7th to 11th August. This 4 day celebrity event has attracted personalities, politicians and business people from all over the world for the past 24 years. The 2012 Event was attended by 80 teams from 10 different countries and all the participants enjoyed three rounds of golf in glorious sunshine. Past Father Son teams included ice hockey legend Wayne Gretsky, American footballer Dan Marino, cricket legend Ian Botham, former world snooker champion Denis Taylor and radio personality George Hook.   Other regulars include Dermot Desmond, JP McManus, Vice President Dan Quayle and Bobby Orr.

Finally in September the 4th Celtic Couples Challenge will take place. The venue for this year’s Challenge has been moved to the British Open venue, “Turnberry Luxury Collection Resort inScotland” from the 21st to the 25th of September. Turnberry andScotland seemed a perfect choice with its two world class links courses’ and luxury spa facilities. The tournament will be played over Turnberry’s majestic Ailsa Course and at Royal Troon Golf Club, host to The Open Championship in 2016.

The cost of participation in these prestigious events starts from €1,250 per person depending where you stay and includes a comprehensive offering including; accommodation, golf, spa treatments, transport, receptions, dinners, gifts and entertainment.
