Glenmuir, the leading Scottish golfwear brand, supported Irish golfer David Higgins as he successfully earned his European Tour card for 2013.

The Lanark-based business, the preferred supplier of shirts and knitwear to the European Ryder Cup Team, has supplied clothing to the 40-year-old Kerry professional in his quest to return to the Tour.

And the support paid off as David finished tied 16th in the final qualifying event at the European Tour’s Q School at the PGA Catalunya Resort, knowing that a top-25 finish would secure his playing rights on tour next year.

The former Irish Amateur Close Championship and South of Ireland Championship winner has previously won three times on the Challenge Tour, the second tier of European golf, while his last spell on the European Tour was in 2007.

Said Glenmuir marketing director, Brian Mair: “David is an extremely hard-working and dedicated professional and we have been delighted to give him some assistance over the past two seasons as he has worked to get back on Tour.

“David negotiated all three stages of Qualifying School and we wish him every success for 2013 in what promises to be another stellar year for Irish golfers.”

Glenmuir is a brand right at the heart of golf. Preferred Supplier to The European Ryder Cup Team, Glenmuir enjoys partnerships with the PGAs of Europe, The PGA, VisitScotland and EventScotland.
