Tickets for Troops is a registered charity that provides free tickets to musical, sporting, entertainment and cultural events for members of our Armed Forces as a mark of the country’s appreciation for their service. Since the charity was established in 2009, over 300,000 tickets have been distributed and over 115,000 troops have signed up to the scheme.

All serving members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, and those who have been medically discharged since the commencement of military action in 2001 are eligible to register for the scheme. Supported by a wide range of organisations Tickets For Troops has been able to offer free tickets to a huge number of high profile events and have recently included the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The golfing community, in particular the PGA, European Tour and the R&A, have been hugely supportive of the charity since inception with hundreds of tickets having been made available to servicemen and women for The Open Championships, Johnnie Walker Championships and Ryder Cup to name a few.

In addition to tickets, in 2011 the PGA and Colin Montgomerie, a patron of Tickets For Troops, took the Ryder Cup Trophy on a morale boosting tour of Afghanistan, where they met with troops and gave clinics and tips to the golfing enthusiasts based at Camp Bastion – a trip which Monty later described as ‘life changing’.
