Redditch Golf Club has appointed Sue McDevitt as its new General Manager.

She is the first female general manager at the Lower Grinsty Lane golf club which celebrated its centenary in 2013.

And she has already hit the ground running, getting to know the club’s members during the festive season.

She started officially on January 2 and was selected from what club chairman Peter Johnson described as a shortlist of high calibre candidates.

Mr Johnson said: “Sue has an impressive track record having worked in training, administration, finance, sales, marketing and product management.

“She then moved on to general manager positions in the health and leisure industries followed by retail and hospitality positions before moving back in to sales management. She was previously sales and marketing manager at Droitwich Print.

“Looking for a new challenge back in the leisure industry, Sue is excited to be joining us on our continuing journey to make a great golf club even better She is looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead and is keen to network and introduce herself to everyone.”

Sue McDevitt said: “I am never happier than when dealing with people, whether as a manager getting the best out of a team, as a salesperson discovering a need and providing a solution or in customer service making sure that each individual is delighted and content with the service given.

“Redditch Golf Club has a great offer both to the individual golfer and the corporate market, and I look forward to building on what was a tremendous Centenary Year.”
