Former Ryder Cup Star and three time European Tour winner Peter Baker has been announced as the latest addition to the impressive  team at Champions of Golf, the full-service golf management agency run by brand agency Champions (UK) Plc.

As one of the European Tour’s most respected and popular players, Peter will take on responsibility for providing support and care to all of Champions’ professionals on location with them on tour.

Matthew Hayes, Managing Director of Champions (UK) Plc commented: “Peter is a fantastic addition to the team at Champions. From beating Corey Pavin in the Ryder Cup singles, competing in major championships and holding off the likes of Nick Faldo to win three times on the European Tour, this is a player who has been there and seen it all. Having Peter on the ground at tournaments to provide advice and guidance will be invaluable to all of our players.”

Champions of Golf have enjoyed impressive success in recent years through taking a dedicated, enthusiastic and methodical approach to selecting talent at crucial stages in their careers and putting in the high levels of attention and care to nurture them to achieve success at the highest level.

Drawing on their experience as a brand communications, event and celebrity management agency, Champions offer a complete service in all aspects of organisation, sponsorships, finances and generating the all important public and media appearances, Champions are able to offer a fuller service than almost any other management agency out there, taking the stress out of the life of a professional golfer and allowing them to get on with the important thing: concentrating on their game.

The formula has certainly worked, with four players currently enjoying full playing privileges on the European Tour. One of the most recent successes is Matthew Southgate, who has been working with Champions for 12 months and has recently achieved his tour card for the 2013 season with an accomplished Tied 7th in the high pressure environment of Qualifying School at PGA Catalunya Resort.

Matthew will follow in the footsteps of other elite European Tour professionals such as Graeme Storm, who won the Open De France Alstom just 18 months into his working relationship with Champions, World Cup of golf winner Marc Warren, Seve Trophy star and Nelson Mandela Championship winner Scott Jamieson and European Senior Tour Rookie of the Year 2011 Gary Wolstenholme MBE, who has taken the world of senior golf by storm since turning professional in 2008.

Peter is delighted to be joining the team at Champions: “As a professional golfer, I know that you perform best when you don’t have other worries on your mind. There is more than enough to think about in the high pressure environment of tournament golf without other worries. Champions have found the secret of taking on all the organisation on behalf of their clients, which is certainly a huge help and frees them up to focus on winning tournaments. The Champions players are some of the most talented on tour, each with hugely exciting promise and I am really looking forward to working with them all in the 2013 season.”
