The latest new members to join the Golf Consultants’ Association are Jerry Kilby and Doug Poole.

Jerry Kilby is the part-time CEO of the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) and was also until recently the Executive Director of the United Kingdom Golf Course Owners’ Association (UKGCOA). He was therefore largely responsible for the establishment of what have become two prominent and influential bodies in the world of golf.

He has stepped down from the UKGCOA recently and is now able to concentrate much more on his golf management and marketing consultancy work.

On learning that his application to join the GCA had been approved, Jerry said: “I am delighted to have been accepted into membership of the GCA. I have been providing independent consulting advice in the golf industry for almost 20 years now, throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia, and I look forward to continuing to provide that advice as a member of the Golf Consultants Association alongside my continuing part-time role for the CMAE.”

Doug Poole was the Managing Director of Golfsmith Europe International and became the Chairman of the British Golf Industry Association, relinquishing that position only a couple of months ago. Doug said: “I am very excited and pleased to become a member of the GCA. To be able to join with the leading people in the industry is an excellent way for me to grow my business.”

Both bring a tremendous amount of experience of golf business both at home and abroad and will be greatly important in contributing their expertise and their network of contacts to the advancement of the Association.

John Ashworth, one of the founding members of GCA and a member of the Executive added ” We are extremely pleased that both Jerry and Doug, in turning to providing consultancy services to the international game and its business have applied and been accepted as members of the Association.

“They will bring a tremendous amount to our ever increasing membership, now in excess of 20, so that we may provide even better independent and proven consultancy services to the marketplace, providing great value to our clients. Both are very welcome indeed.”
