Joy Edkins, who ran her own golf recruitment business, before joining HR GO Recruitment in 2010, has joined Harpenden Golf Club in Hertfordshire as the administrator. She will be working alongside Frank Clapp, the general manager, who will also be the next captain of the Golf Club Managers’ Association (GCMA).
It means it is the end of a recruitment career that spans over 20 years and her website,www.joyedkinsgolf.co.uk, has now closed down.
“Having advised so many golf clubs and steered numerous candidates into the golf industry for 10 years, I’ve been fortunate to secure myself a local opportunity at Harpenden,” she said.
She added that she is thriving on her change of career and, with her appreciation of golf operations, is rising to the challenge in delivering a first class service to members, staff and visitors alike.
“Harpenden Golf Club is very proud of its history and is keen to welcome people to the club to share the experience of the golf course, friendly clubhouse and excellent catering,” she said.
Sheryl Adams will take over her nationwide golf recruitment role at HR GO Recruitment, and will present on the GCMA training courses. Sheryl also plans to be at the GCMA national conference in November.
